Özet (EN)
This research was conducted to reveal the effect of teaching the subject of 6th grade sets with active learning techniques on students' attitudes towards mathematics course, student success and permanence of learning. A real experimental research model with "Pre-Test-Post-Test Control Group" was used in the research. While direct instruction and question and answer techniques were used in the control group, the lesson was taught using active learning techniques such as jigsaw, card showing, card matching, bingo, project design and peer teaching techniques in the experimental group, and the differences between students' attitudes towards mathematics, mathematics achievement and permanence of learning were compared. The sample of the research consists of a total of 52 sixth grade students studying in a school affiliated with the Ministry of National Education in the Gebze district of Kocaeli province in the 2022-2023 academic year. There are 26 students in the control and experimental groups. "Mathematics Attitude Scale" and "Clusters Achievement Test" were used in the data collection process. Clusters achievement test and mathematics attitude scale were applied to both groups as pre-test and post-test. The application was planned for three weeks (15 hours) for both groups, and five lessons per week were taught for a total of three weeks (15 lesson hours). Three months after the end of the application, the mathematics achievement test was administered again to determine permanence. The data obtained was analyzed on a computer using a special statistical program. While analyzing the data, t-test, one of the parametric tests, was used to examine whether the difference between the two averages was significant. It was determined that the results obtained from the data were in favor of the experimental group. Keywords: Active Learning, Retention, Clusters, Student Achievement
