Ayniyat registers are one of the important archive sources written in the 19th century, one of the last periods of the Ottoman Empire. The Ottoman Empire established a long-term dominance in the Serbian geography, and ind this process granted a certain autonomy to the local governments of the people in the region. However, this autonomy marked the beginning of a turbulent period that continued with the Serbian rebellions.
