Law no. 6284 and effects of this law on Criminal Procedure Law

In our work, Law No. 6284 and the effects of this Law on criminal procedure law have been studied. Though it has been eight years since it entered into force, Law No. 6284 has been determined that the purpose, scope and quiddity of the measure in this law are not sufficiently understood. Although the name includes the expression of protecting the family, the purpose of the law is to effectively and swiftly protect victims of violence as well as prevention of violence against women and domestic violence. The concept of violence defined in Law No. 6284 is independent from the concept called as crime in criminal law. While not all violent acts, constitute a crime, it also be situations that violence is criminal. In this situations while the criminal proceedings continue, on the other hand, the measures in the Law No. 6284 may be applied. Yet, various problems may arise due to the two legged application. Therefore, in our work, in addition to examining the Law No. 6284, solutions were sought for the problems arising in the criminal proceedings in connection with the Law.
