The study examines the effects of the Tourist Guiding Profession Law No. 6326 on the tourist guiding profession before and after its enactment. Within the scope of the study, the historical development of tourist guiding, the legal framework and practices of the tourist guiding profession in Turkey and in the world are discussed. The evolution of tourist guiding from antiquity to the present day has been examined in detail, and important developments in the Middle Ages and the New Age have been written. Within the scope of this evaluation, the opinions of guides on legal regulations, changes in professional practices and the long and short-term effects of these changes were investigated. In this context, 14 active professional guides with 15 years or more of professional experience were interviewed with 7 semi-structured interview questions and 5 demographic questions. The data obtained as a result of the interviews were analyzed, and the findings obtained include the views of tourist guides on the legal changes, changes in professional practices and the long-term effects of these changes on the profession. In conclusion, the amendments to Law No. 6326 have had a significant impact on tourist guides. This thesis aims to contribute to the development of the legal framework of the tourism guiding profession by presenting the positive and negative effects of this amendment on the future of the profession and offering solutions.
