Examination of the activities in the 7th grade Turkish textbooks in terms of key competencies

In this study, it is aimed to examine the activities in the 7th grade Turkish textbooks in terms of key competencies in the Turkish Qualifications Framework. In this context, 'Communication in Mother Tongue', 'Communication in Foreign Languages', 'Mathematical Competence and Basic Competencies in Science/Technology', 'Digital Competence', 'Learning to Learn', Social and Citizenship Competencies', 'Taking Initiative and Entrepreneurship', 'Cultural Competencies' A total of eight key competencies, 'Awareness and Expression', were taken as the basis for analysis in the research. These eight key competencies were examined by scanning the activities in the 7th grade textbooks. Case study design was used in the research. Easily accessible case sampling method was used in the study. The data source of the research consists of 7th grade Turkish textbooks. Developed as a document by the Ministry of National Education and approved by the Board of Education; 7th grade Turkish textbooks (MEB Publications and Original Publications) were discussed. According to the findings obtained from the research data, it is seen that the key competencies in the activities in the 7th grade Turkish textbooks show a balanced distribution, and the activity related to communication competency in foreign languages is not included.
