Abstract (EN)

Aim: The aim of this study; To examine the effects of calisthenic training applied on motoric characteristics to 10-12 year old badminton players. Materials and Methods: A total of 30 volunteers, 10 experimental, 10 control, 10 sedentary, participated in the study. 8 weeks of calisthenic exercise was applied to the experimental group, and badminton exercises were applied to the badminton control group. Motoric measurements were applied to the sedentary group before and after 8 weeks without any exercise. Height, weight, sit and reach test, t agility test, vertical jump, hand grip and 30m speed parameters were measured before and after the studies. In the analysis of the data, One-Way Anova was used to compare the pre-test results between groups, Paired-Samples T-Test was used for the intra-group pre-post-test comparison, repeated measures ANOVA for the pre-post-test comparison between the groups, and Post-hoc=Tukey for the follow-up test. Results: In the pre-post-test comparison of the groups, it was determined that the increase in the experimental group's post-test vertical jump test was significantly higher than the other groups, and there was no significant difference in other parameters. In the pre-post-test comparison of the experimental group, it was observed that there were significant differences in flexibility, vertical jump, and claw strength, while flexibility and claw strength improved in the control group. In the sedentary group, there were significant increases in flexibility, agility, vertical jump, and claw strength parameters. Conclusion: It was observed that positive increases in motoric features (flexibility, vertical jump, claw strength) measured at the end of 8 weeks in all groups aged 10-12 years (experimental, badminton control, and sedentary control). It was observed that vertical jump improved in all groups at 8 weeks, but Calisthenic training improved vertical jump at a higher level. According to the results obtained in the study, it can be said that motoric features tend to increase independently of exercise in the 10-12 age period, and that calisthenic training is effective in increasing development.
