Özet (EN)

This study was conducted to determine the metaphors of eighth grade students about the concept of "Soil" and 'Agriculture'. 531 students from Pirireis Secondary School and Muhittin Develi Secondary School in Mersin participated in the study in the 2018-2019 academic year. The research data were obtained through a semi-structured questionnaire. Open-ended survey questions are similar to / like 'Soil' …………. Because with the question Tarım Agriculture ........ is similar / similar. Because ............. ınd 'format. Content analysis method was used to analyze and interpret the collected data. According to the findings; students produced 93 metaphors for the concept of soil. It was determined that the most metaphors produced for soil were human, life and mother. Students produced 84 metaphors for the concept of agriculture. It is seen that the concepts of labor and life are the most produced metaphors.
