Abstract (EN)

The COVID-19 epidemic, which emerged in Wuhan, China in 2019, affected our world and was declared a global pandemic. It has affected every field where people exist, as well as the field of education. In many countries around the world, face-to-face education was suspended due to the epidemic and a mandatory transition was made to the distance education system. The rapid transition to the distance education system has brought about many problems and has greatly affected the teaching of courses. This study was conducted for 8th Grade T.R. In order to evaluate the distance education process of the History of Revolution and Kemalism course from the teacher's perspective, it was carried out with 21 social studies teachers working in public secondary schools in Burdur in the 2022-2023 academic year. Qualitative research method was used in the study. The data of the study were collected using a semi-structured interview form. The data was analyzed using content analysis and presented by tabulation and frequencies. According to the results obtained in the study; social studies teachers' 8th grade T.R. It has been determined that most of their opinions about teaching the History of Revolution and Kemalism course through distance education are negative. Low number of students attending the course, decreasing student interest in the course, lack of student control and infrastructure problems are cited. Although positive opinions are few; It has been stated that with distance education, there is no need to stay away from education, lessons are taught in a more comfortable environment and technology is given more space. They stated that the biggest problem was technology-related, due to infrastructure problems and lack of technological tools during the lesson. Social studies teachers stated that they could not make assessments and evaluations and that distance education did not allow taking exams. Social studies teachers stated that as a solution to the problems experienced, general network problems should be solved and the applications used should be more accessible.
