The first dine of the children?s literature is that to develop the children?s love of reading and supply the habit of reading. Publishers, teachers and families are responsible as much as authors in this subject. In this study, the negatives and the results, in the relativity of children in the children?s literature and the educational values that books should carry which are taken from fourteen stories from Ömer Seyfettin?s ten story books are tried to be defined and evaluated. These stories are studied and evaluated according to these topics which carry negative features for children; violence, sexuality, race, the attitues that support the superiority of religion, slang words and idioms, pictures, the behaviours that can form bad examples and detailed description.
