Abstract (EN)

The purpose of this research is to determine the effects of violin education which is supported by Orff Schulwerk on the Students aged between 9 ? 11? s attitudes towards violin lesson, self Efficacy perceptions towards playing violin, self confidence and violin playing ability.Pre and post tests research design with a control group was used for this Research. The research was done among 36 student who had no education about playing violin in Aydın Merkez Gazi Paşa Primary School in the academic year of 2009 -2010. İn experimental process, which takes 14 week, traditional violin education was applied both experimental and control groups an hour per week. İn addition, violin education which is supported by Orff Schulwerk was applied on experimental group (n=18) two hours once a week. İn research data was collected by Self Efficacy Beliefs Towards Playing Violin Scale, Attitude Towars Violin Lesson Scale, Piers ? Harris Children Self Concept Scale and Violin Playing Ability Observation Form.Results of the research is listed below:The violin education which is supported by Orff Schulwerk has significant efectiveness with regard to traditional violin education on,?Attitude Towars Violin Lesson?Violin Playing Ability?The happiness-satisfaction, anxiety, being popular, behaviour agreement-conformity, physical appearence and mind and school condition sub factors of Piers-Harris Self Concept Scale?The aptitude, belief, insistence sub factors of Self Efficacy Beliefs Towards Playing Violin.
