The transcription and assessment of the number 96 Muhimme Register (H. 1089-1090/M.1678-1679)

Divan is senior decision making body that judges in behalf of the Sultan where official and nationalissues are discussed and concluded, further more where any kind of case and complaint are sortedout. The Mühimme is there gister that political, military, financial and social decisions made in Divan are recorded. Mühimme registers, that concern many researching sectors because of their contents, are important historical resources about interrelation between govermental and military organs in central and provincial managements of Ottoman Empire, how do these organs work and what are their functions. They are the most important resourceses pecially for there searches done for XVI, XVII and XVIII. centuries. The thesis is about Number 96 Muhimme Register which involves the incidents of The Sultan Mehmed fourt between the years H. 1089-1090 (M. 1678-1679),and totally consists of 205 pages.The pages from 100 to 199 of the register are studied and remaining 200, 201, 202, 203, 204 ve 205 pages are completely blank. The tag on the book is in the shape of wreath, surrounded by flowers and written "Defter-i Mühimme ve FîEvâil-i Rebîü'l-evvel Sene 1089 İlâ Evâhir-i Rebîü'l-evvel Sene 1090"in it. Number '96' is typed in Arabic under this scripture and register 96 is typed a bove it.The register is mainly consisted of official, military, political, financial and social is suessuch as conflicts in public, found ation and found ationlands, various taxtypes and collecting them. Information about Divan-ı Hümayun, reign of The Sultan Mehmed fourt and the mühimme registers are given in this study. Terms are studied one by one.
