Abstract (EN)
In this study, the behavior of radiolabeled CdS-Fe nanoparticles, which can be used as non-destructive testing in industry, on already tested damaged materials have been examined. For this purpose, separately synthesized iron oxide magnetic nanoparticles and CdS quantum dot were bounded using 3-mercaptopropyl trimethoxysilane (MPS) to obtaine CdS-Fe composite nanoparticles. These nanoparticles characterization was performed by SEM and fluorescence microscopy. According to results of the characterization, CdS-Fe nanoparticles have been low size and 460 nm emission band (blue color). Nanoparticles which were labeled with 99mTc radionuclide using thin chloride as reducing agent, quality controls are made by Thin Layer Radiochromatograpy (TLRC). Quality control results showed that the nanoparticles radiolabeled with high efficiency. Radiolabeled nanoparticles applied on materials which surface discontinuities previously reported. Activity of particles was observed very high in area of discontinuities by count from gamma detector. As a results of tests carried out, 99mTc labeled CdS-Fe nanoparticles which can be prepared easily and have high stability, for non-destructive testing are expected to create new applications field in detection of material damages and defects.
