Abstract (EN)

A documentary film with a title ?Minimalism in the Version of Abbas Kiyarüstemi? has merged as a thesis subject.In the first section of this study, it?s talked about Minimalism and the Movies, Cinema/Picture relation, and the effects of Iranian revolution (pre and post) cinema on Abbas Kiyarüstemi.As for the second section of the study, it?s mainly discussed about Kiyarüstemi?s art, films, praises for his art, studies on the preparation phrase of the film (document, photograph, scanning, images from internet etc?) and information about the Graphic Designs and production prepared for the film. In this film study, Abbas Kiyarüstemi?s biography, his films and prizes are given chronically. In addition, his minimalist perception in terms of his films has been told with a poetic and descriptive language. Especially, the films from his masterpieces that made him be known in the world and provide him stabilize his career; have been underlined in Kiyarüstemi?s filmography. Common characteristics of the films have been searched and identified with minimalism. In this sense, as if Abbas Kiyarüstemi had used digital camera and deactivated the director (that?s himself). This perception, which goes towards the digital micro cinema and contributes the minimalist cinema perception, has shown that it?s possible to make a film with a very low budget. In this documentary film, Kiyarüstemi?s ?eye glasses? symbolize his wisdom and worldview. When we look from the side of Kiyarüstemi?s ?eye glasses? we see the common themes such as ?life, death and alteration? that correlate the films with each other. In this film, information about Iranian poems themes and poetics images including Kiyarüstemi?s cinema perception in his films has been taken up in detail.Key Words: Abbas Kiyarüstemi, Minimalism, Poem, Tale, Koker Trilogy, Digital Micro Cinema, Spectacle (eye glasses), Documentary.
