Abstract (EN)
The novel "Sara", written by Abdullah Zühdü, was published as a seventy part serial in the issues 3643-3720 of the newspaper "Sabah" in 1900. According to our research, Abdullah Zühdü's novel "Sara" has not been put into book form until now. This study is the first review of the novel "Sara". The aim of this thesis is to bring the novel "Sara", which was serialized in Sabah newspaper, to the history of Turkish literature. The project, named "The History of the Serial Novels in Turkish Literature" (1831-1928), conducted by Özyeğin University and subsidized by TÜBITAK, is the primary resource used to identify the novel "Sara". In this thesis, the digital archives of Özyeğin University related to the study of "History of Serial Novels in Turkish Literature" (1831-1928) and the back issues of the newspaper Sabah in Beyazıt State Library archives were utilized. In this study, the novel "Sara" was analyzed thematically. The themes of family, education, marriage, forbidden love, money, extravagance, weakness, deception and regret have been identified in the novel of "Sara". The study consists of two parts: The first part is "Abdullah Zühdü's Life and Works", the second part is "The Thematic Analysis of the Novel of Sara".
