The present study aimed to analyze "el-İfâde ve'l-i'tibâr fi'l-umûri'l-müşâhede ve havâdisi'l-mu'âyene bi-arżı Mısr" by Abd al-Latif al-Baghdadi, which was written on Egypt in 600/1204. Based on the approach and narratives by Baghdadi in this work, the economic, socio-cultural life of the Egyptian people in that period and the archeological artifacts excavated in Egypt were scrutinized. Furthermore, the impact of the River Nile on Egyptian people, the famine, tragic events, and resulting material and spiritual downfall experienced between 597/1201-598/1202, and the plants indigenous to Egypt and the animals that inhabit the Nile River were among the themes of the study. Furthermore, subthemes such as earthquakes in Egypt, their effects on people and the destruction caused by the earthquakes were also included. Descriptive and interpretive methods were used in the study. Furthermore, the current meanings of the information provided by Baghdadi were discussed, the information he provided were compared with the narratives of later authors on pyramids and other antiquities to test the reliability of the former. The multidisciplinary dimension of the work and its significance in history science were analyzed. The study focused on questions such as the significance of the work, the topics it tackled, the utilized approach, the reliability of the information provided in the work, and the methodology adopted by Baghdadi in this work. Finally, an attempt was made to determine the significance of "el-İfâde ve'l-i'tibâr" for the history, socio-culture, economics, anthropology, art and architecture of Egypt.
