Abstract (EN)

Important works were performed in the area of Arabic literature in many Arabcountries at the begining of XX. century and this first development movement wasdenominated as ?Nahda? (Development).However, the occupation of the Arab countries bythe Europeans had interrupted these works from time to time and olso prevented them fromspreading to the other Arab countries. Şark?ul- Mutevassıt is the one of the most importantnovel among these works. This novel is of Abdurrahman Munif, which was novelist-economist, and the most important agent of modern literature of Arabic.The novelist was mentioned about that how political activity was punished by non-democratic regimes in this novel. It is explain in this novel that how activities in the areasof opinions and activities in the Middle East are quiet by pressure and punishment in thecontext of human right. However novelist-economist Abdurrahman Munif mentionedprision and prision life in this novel. This novel revolves around the social-political changesoccured in Middle East.Generally he always opposed to the traditions and feudal regimes in his works.Besides a writer, he is also an economist and expert. We are deal with and the presentstudy his deal with and investigated his life and works and thoughts and his novel?Şarku?l-Mutevassıt? (Middle East), characters, events, symbols, modern narrativetechniques, descriptions and language.
