Importance of lighting in emergency escape route design and the investigation of the Halkali cultural facility project

This thesis about, the importance of lighting in emergency escape route design. The search for a new place, which has emerged with the increasing population today, has led to the redesign of many places and the creation of new spaces. The creation of these spaces brings with it many problems. In case of an emergency, measures should be taken to enable users to evacuate places safely by reaching the escape route quickly and without causing confusion. In this study, information is given about the emergency escape plans and the lighting systems designed on these plans and their features. Various explanations are provided so that the users can evacuate by noticing the escape routes in a timely and accurate manner. In this context, a conceptual framework has been created on both the lighting and the emergency escape plan. The subject of the study is handled comprehensively, from general to specific, and various suggestions are also included. Analysis were made on the Halkalı Cultural Facility Project. As a result of the literature research, it is seen that new models and designs are developed every day related to emergency escape lighting.
