Abstract (EN)

Emergency services are health units where stressful and traumatic events are frequently experienced. As a member of the team working in emergency services, emergency nurses can also be affected by these stressful and traumatic events and experience traumatic stress. Traumatic stress can negatively affect the physical and psychosocial well-being of employees, reduce their motivation to work, and negatively affect the quality of care given accordingly. Trying to determine the factors that predict traumatic stress can be a guide for intervention studies to prevent these risks by identifying the risks. The aim of this thesis is to determine the traumatic stress symptoms and the sociodemographic and professional variables that predict them in emergency room nurses. This study is a descriptive and analytic study. The sample of the study consists of 269 nurses who work in the emergency departments of education and research, state, private and university hospitals within the borders of Ankara Metropolitan Municipality, volunteer to participate in the study and are on active duty during the study period. The revised version of the Sociodemographic and Professional Data Form, the Professional Quality of Life Scale and the Impact of Events Scale will be used to collect data. Multiple Linear Regression Analysis will be used for the analysis of the data.
