In our study, it was aimed to determine the demographic factors affecting hospital cost in patients with COPD exacerbation. Abant İzzet Baysal University Emergency Medicine. Was performed retrospectively between 01.06.2016 and 30.06.2017 with patients who were admitted due to an attack of COPD. All cases were evaluated according to age, gender, occupation, place of residence, educational status, smoking history, type of warming, comorbidity, application time, symptoms, vital findings and physical examination, blood gas results, emergency service referral frequency, Relationship with. The median age of the patients was 73 years and 76.8% were male. Median cost of the patients was 136,8 TL. There was no relationship between cost, age, gender, working status, place of residence, level of education, duration of cigarette smoking, type of medicine used at home and type of warming (p> 0,05). Costs of patients who applied in autumn compared to other periods were significantly lower (p <0,05). No additional disease, HT, CHF, and DM were found to increase cost (p <0.05). It was found that cost increased significantly as the general condition worsened (p <0,05). There was a positive correlation between cost and respiration rate and negative correlation with DKS (p <0,05). Costs were significantly higher in patients with examination findings (p <0.05). Negative correlation between HCO3 and cost was found (p <0.05). There was no relationship between the frequency of admittance and admission frequency of emergency services (p> 0,05). The cost of intensive care and hospitalization was significantly higher (p <0.05). In conclusion, although COPD affects a large number of factors in patients admitted to the hospital due to an attack, the most important factor affecting the cost is the patient's clinic. The illness of the patient's clinic determines both the treatment to be given to the emergency department and the hospitalization. Keywords: COPD attack, cost, emergency service
