City i s a fact w hich carri es the sociological , economi cal,cul tural etc. factors in itsel f. In the organi sati on of si tes of ci ty,statue is an art component w hi ch provi des positi ve contributionto ci ty and all the factors whi ch com pose and al so i t makes thecity to become more different in vi sual si ght.The envi ronmental efforts of artists aim such acti vi ties likemaking the si tes availabl e to li ve, bringing new identity andmaking the environment more estheti c. These efforts causethemselves to be fel t i n city and open areas by maki ng the arti stand eventually the art i tsel f be know n in wide scope. In thi srespect, it i s ai med to enlarge the borders of art and makepeople get i nvolved in art acti vi ties.First of all , the open area statues w hich meet peopl edirectly i n soci al life are the ones belong to the public. For thisreason, the real ow ner of open area statues and w ork of artswhi ch will be pl aced in ci ty centres, in front of buil dings and inopen areas are the peopl e w ho share the pl ace wi th them.In the fi rst hal f of 20 t n century, there are defi ni te changesand i mprovements in the art of statue. In this century, statue isnot onl y created from the description of defi ni te thing andsubjects or formi ng a pi ece of soil or dressi ng a stone but alsoit is created from the thi ngs that are brought together i n a si te.In the open statue, kunt mass or the spaces in and betw een thevol ume are started to be i mportant.Today, open area statues are in various form andtechni ques and they get i mportance in the ci ty and artcombi nati on.Ke y Wo rd s : Ci ty, S tatue, Envi ronment, Si te, F orm
