Abstract (EN)

Today, open offices are designed to encourage communication between employees and increase collaboration. With the effect of employee socialization on work motivation, the spatial qualities of flexible working spaces have come to the fore. For this reason, this research is prepared to evaluate the increasing importance and qualities of common spaces for social and flexible working purposes in office buildings in the user context. Behavioral Sciences for the foundations of office employees' behaviors such as communication and collaboration, team spirit, stress reduction, breaks and listening, Work Psychology and motivation elements for the foundations of open office users' behavior, in-office flexible areas and social areas designed according to work psychology, on which employee behavior is based. It will be prepared with support from Environmental Psychology. With the survey created based on employee psychology and flexible office designs, users will be asked to evaluate the qualities of flexible workspaces and social areas in the offices they work in and to evaluate these spaces according to their frequency of use. A survey will be applied to the employees of 3 different companies from home and abroad, determined by the sampling method, and the results will be evaluated. The survey results will reveal office users' evaluations and comments about flexible workspaces and social areas. Although there are studies that approach the human-space relationship in Open Offices on a user basis, this research will contribute to the office design literature viii as the evaluation of flexible workspaces and social areas in developing office designs will be discussed from the perspective of employees and will reveal what kind of flexible workspaces are preferred according to the intensity of use.
