Eximining mobile learning literacy skills of open and distance learners

The main purposes of this study are to investigate the possible relations between the mobile learning literacy skills, demographics, technology habits, and e-learning interaction levels of open and distance learners and to propose ideas depending on the findings. In order to investigate the mobile learning literacy skills of the open and distance learners, a survey is created based on the related literature and applied to the sample. Findings showed that 3-dimension approach (technical, cognitive, social) to mobile learning literacy is viable, and there are some differences between the different learner groups in the context of mobile learning literacy skills. Most importantly, findings suggest that higher mobile learning literacy skills increase the chance to access the e-learning materials provided by the institution. In addition to that, findings show that there is almost no significant correlation between mobile learning literacy skills and owning many devices. Also, it is believed that the survey created for this research could shed light on the future projects especially those who would aim to design a mobile learning literacy scale.
