Abstract (EN)
The aim of this research is to create new assessment-evaluation models in open and distance learning environments by using learning analytics in which learners' performance in the learning process is included in the evaluation. In this study, data obtained from learners enrolled in Anadolu University Open Education System and using Anadolum eKampüs Learning Management System were used. In this context, the data obtained from the learners' academic performance grades and their interactions in the learning management system were used in the study. In this research, which was carried out in two stages, firstly, it was aimed to use the grades calculated with the assessment-evaluation models created by using the LMS data from the beginning of the semester to the midterm exam date instead of the midterm exam grade. In the second stage, new assessment-evaluation models based on process performance were created using the LMS data from the beginning of the semester until the final exam date. In all these stages, generalised linear model, linear regression and ridge regression from regression analysis methods were used to create the models. In this study, the use of the ridge regression method among the methods applied for the mid-term and end-of-term evaluation phases yielded more effective results. In the models created within the scope of the study, the variables with the highest coefficients were determined as the variables related to system usage in the mid-term evaluation phase, while the variables related to material usage were determined as the variables related to material usage in the end-of-term evaluation phase.
