Özet (EN)

This study intends to use the community of inquiry framework to examine the design principles of the videos used in interactive e-books. In order to reach this purpose, first, use of video in open and distance learning was summarized with a historical perspective; then, effects of video on learning as well as significance of the community of inquiry framework in open and distance learning were summarized based-on the available literature. In the study, an embedded mixed method approach was adapted. The study was actually based-on a between groups, post-test only quantitative design but with open ended questions asked at the end of each sessions included into questionnaire were helped to collect qualitative data. The study has revealed the effects of video shooting venue (environment) on the learners' sense of social and teacher presences as well as the extent they recall the information they received in these videos. It also provided insight about the learners' preferences of the venues for video shooting. Additionally, the study has also showed the effects of the program types on the learners' perceived learning and their preferences of the program types that can be adapted in videos embedded into interactive e-books.
