The determination and evaluation of the rumors about the Âd and Semüd people

The Quran, mentions the previous tribes and their prophets not detailly butintends to serve all as a deterrent. Therefore, the Quran considers Âd and Semûdtribes which do not take place in the other Holy Books in its own style. Tafsirs thatare related to these tribes are tried to be explained using the datas given by the historyof İslam and Hadiths which takes place in the interpretations of the Quran. Althoughin the sources of Historic İslam the superior characteristics of the monarchs that arerumors between Arabians are mentioned in the stories of the communities beingtalked of. In the hadiths explanations about the parts of related tribes? lives whichtakes place in the Quran are more emphasized. Besides, most of the Hadiths that arementions about Âd and Semûd tribes take place in the basic hadith sources which areaccepted as reliable and genuine.Key Words: Âd, Semûd, Hûd, Sâlih, Ahkâf, Hicr.
