Abstract (EN)
In this study, taking into account the chemical inputs directly used for unit production area (ha) in table tomato production in open field conditions in Adana province; energy use and equivalent carbon dioxide emissions (CO2-eq). A total of 9261.73 MJ/ha of petroleum products (PU) energy is consumed due to the use of tools and machinery for table tomato production. A total of 2042.92 MJ/ha energy is consumed for the use of plant nutrition products (BBU). A total of 491.9 kgCO2-eq/ha CO2-eq emission related to BBU use is realized. A total of 2125.5 MJ/ha of energy is consumed for the use of plant protection products (BKU) and a total of 66.6 kgCO2/ha of CO2 is emitted. A total of 7.506 g of chemical inputs are used, including 2.625 g PU, 4.731 g BBU and 0.150 g BKU to produce 1 kg of fresh tomatoes in open tomato production. As a result of PU, BBU and BKU consumption to produce 1 kg of fresh tomatoes, 8.568 kgCO2, 6.149 kgCO2-eq and 0.833 kgCO2 are released respectively. In Adana, 1 kg of fresh tomatoes in the open, 15.55 gCO2 is emitted as a result of total chemical input usage.
