Putting forward of sociodemographical features of children, committing property crimes and committing violent crimes in Adana.

Children are the future of a country, for this reason the most important investment is the one implemented on children. The child or childhood period can be considered as the first step of the development of human which is a part of human life that starts with birth. But the crimes are formed by the social, economical and moral conditions of the societies. Juvenile delinquency is the transformation of the anti-social tendencies of a child to the situatıon that requires the intervention of the laws.Children can?t understand enough which rules they have to obey because of the mental and pedagogical situation that they are into. Socialization is not completed fully. The most part of the children complete the process of socializatıon with the period of development. The literatures about the children involved into crime have found out that the factors caused the children to be called with the crime are the sociological groups that define the socialization of a child at the same time. These are the factors about the family, school, peers, social, socioeconomical, biological and psychological factors etc.In this study the sociodemographical features of the children who have been brought to the department of juvenile because of the violent and property crimes are tried to be found out in order to introduce the causes of children and adolescents tendencies to the crime and present the suggestions of solutions. A survey has been implemented by 470 children with the oral interview method. Aftermath of the study when we present a profile of the children claimed to commit a crime, the outcomes show us that %77,7 of them are between 16?17 ages, %96,4 of them are boys, %70,7 of them use a kind of drug or inhalant, %8,7 of them have never gone to school, %58,5 of the ones that have gone to schools have left school, %64,9 have low income, %53,8 of them are the childrens of the immigrant families and %69,7 of them have come because of property crimes.Juvenile delinquency is a problem that can be solved with the participation of the whole associations and foundations as well as the participation of the non-governmental organizations. Besides this, the rehabilitation and improvement studies for the child criminals, widening the juvenile courts and the mechanism of probation should be made more active.Key Words: Juvenile Delinquency, Juvenile Delinquency Factors, Sociodemographical Features, Juvenile Delinquency In Adana
