Abstract (EN)

In this research it was aimed to analyze the urban formation within living living spaces of Adana city that develops on potantial agricultural lands as well as extens its borders rapidly in the course of migration, and to detemine the diversity and characteristics of biotops, and to indicate certain ones which would need protection acording to their diveristy while classifying them. The study has been carried on four stages. After examining related studies and present urban problems of the city, land uses were indicated. According to land studies on the selected exemplifynig profile species groups that characterize each land use pattern and biotope types have been defined. On the base of species composition, indicated biotopes with their naturality classes and hemerobi levels have been overspreaded on the whole urban fringe. On the stage of conclusion by describing biotopes that must be protected and developed, some poposals that would bring some solutions for urban development and physical planning brought in. These proposals thought to be efficient for protecting and developing the potentials within up-date urban whole while sustaining natural elements as well as keeping upen-green space potantials for the demands of urban inhabitants. As a result of this study it is aimed that this research would bring to light some information about urban planning and urban development decisions that based on ecological structure for our cauntry who is willing to be a part of Europe in such period as today in which sustainable urban development policies are followed.
