Population dynamics of citrus nematode (Tylenchulus semipenetrans Cobb) and its effect on the navel orange yield in Adana

Halil ELEKÇİO?LU Prof. Dr. Nedim UYGUN Prof. Dr. Turgut YEŞİLO?LU Population dynamics of citrus nematode, Tylenchulus semipenetrans Cobb, was studied in two different citrus orchards infested with the nematode where Yafa and Navel orange varieties {Citrus cinensis (L.) Osbeck) grown as grafted on sour orange rootstocks in Adana, from April 1998 to March 2000. Also, the effect of citrus nematode on the yield of Navel orange variety was examined. Nematode population, in both orchards, remained at its lowest level during December and January whereas it reached its highest level in July. After nematicide applications, yield increase for both years were 0.9 % and 9.2 %, respectively; however, the values were statistically insignificant.
