Özet (EN)
The aim of this study is to gauge the opinions of candidate teachers to the classroom management. The study has been conducted on the candidate teachers, assigned in Feb, 2012 carrying out their missions varying from one year to two years in state schools in the countryside or Elazığ city center subordinated to MEM (National Education Directorship). The thesis also serves as a literature review on the subject.İs study has been conducted according to the Relational Scanning Model. Throughout the research the "Competencies of Candidate Teachers in Classroom Management" (CCTCM) scale has been used.İn During the first phase of the study, reconstructed open ended interview questionnaire has been provided to 22 candidate teachers. İn the coding phase of the set of qualitative data, content analysis which is one of the qualitative data analyses has been used. After an extensive search of the literature, a questionnaire built up with likert scale consisting of 54 items has been formed to assess the perception of the competencies of candidate teachers by the candidate teachers themselves. The questionnaires were then presented to specialists in the area to validate the findings. The reliability test was carried out on data collected from a total of 200 teachers. After the exploratory factor analysis, the 38 items which had a factor ratio below .35 has been casted out in the development phase and 16 items were left at the end of the process. The data collected in the research was decomposed using the package software. There are a total of 484 candidate teachers teaching in all type of state schools including primary secondary ad high school in Elazığ. The scale development phase of research has been conducted on randomly chosen 200 teachers out of the 484 afore mentioned. İn the data collection phase, a scale was applied on the remaining 262 teachers who were not used during the scale development phases. As abovementioned, an additional 22 teachers were surveyed in the initial phase. However, since some candidate teachers were assigned to different cities, a scale filled by the 254 candidate teachers was taken into evaluation. When establishing the views of the candidate teachers related to the qualifications of other candidate teachers in classroom management and teaching and learning; centered aptitude dimension, inflecting away normality and average scales, frequency and percentage pile have been used. To detect if there is any correlation between the perception of the candidate teachers and their gender, the faculty which they graduated and the type of the school; a one-way variance analysis and Kruskal Wallis H-Test has been carried out. To determine the groups where significant differences have been detected, LSD test has been carried out (one of Post Hoc tests). According to the findings "Candidate Teachers' Classroom Management Competencies of" scale was found to be composed of three factors "relationship management in the classroom", "education management" and "student / environment recognition".The findings from the questionnaires according to the factors studied were, "strongly agree" in "relationship management in the classroom", factor ( = 4.33), and "education management" ( = 4.13); and `agree? in the "student / environment recognition" ( = 3.91) .When the whole data was analyzed an "agree" level have been identified ( = 4.15). İn summary, prospective teachers saw themselves adequate in ?relationship management in the classroom", and less than adequate in "education management", "student / environment recognition" and overall. There has been no significant association between the perception of the candidate teachers in the whole scale and in other factors related to gender, the faculty where candidate teachers have graduated from and the type of the schools they graduated from.According to the LSD test, the disparity between the perceptions of the candidate teachers who have graduated from Social Science related and Natural Science related areas seems to have been in the favor of teachers who have graduate from Visual Art related areas.İt has been found that several ways to improve the sufficiency of classroom management, which are that "Seating of students must be arranged by taking the children's willingness into consideration", "There must be guiding with the cooperation of the families to get to know the children/students well", "What the neighboring community expects from the school and teachers must be made clear" and finally "To avert the unwanted behaviors of children", the right model of classroom management must be used. Key Words: Candidate teacher, Classroom management, Competencies
