Effects of aerobic and anaerobic training programs on some physiological parameters of schoolboys aged 13-16 years

Abstract (EN)
The purpose of this study was to assess effects of 8 weeks aerobic and anaerobic training programmes on some physiological parame ters of Schoolboys aged 13-16 years. A total of 32 healthy school boys were voluntarily participated into this study. Subjects were randomly categorized into three groups as aerobic (n = 1 1), anaero bic (n=ll) training and Control (n=10) groups. Subjects' physiological parameters were measured by using standar dized field and laboratory tests. Subjects within aerobic training group ran 4.8 km. three times a we ek for eight weeks at 80% of their HR max. The anaerobic group ran 2 sets of 600 m sprints at 90 % of subjects HR max. Work-to rest re lief was 1:1 and 1:3 between repetitions and sets respectively. Cont rol group had no exercise regimes. Statistical analysis were done by using paired t-test and ANOVA. Aerobic power of experiment groups was significantly increased (P<0.05). These increments were 3.8 %, 6.78 % and 17.06 % in Control, anaerobic and aerobic groups, respectively. In contrast to control group, anaerobic power of experiment groups was signifi cantly increased (P<0.05). Increments were 13.92 %, 9.7 % 4.41 %, in anaerobic, aerobic and control groups respectively. In contrast to control group percent body fat of experiment groups was significantly decreased (P<0.01). In addition, lean body weights of experiment groups were significantly increased (P<0.01). Resting heart rate of experiment groups was significantly decreased (P<0.01). Resting Sistolic and diastolic blood pressures of all gro-64 ups were decreased but only decrements in experiment groups were found significant (P<0.05). Standing long jump and flexibility scores of experiment groups were significantly increased (P<0.05). Increments in 50 m sprint scores of experiment groups were not fo und significant. Although little increments were found in vital capacity and forced vital capacity of all groups only the increments in control and aero bic group were found significant (P<0.05). In addition, height and weight of all subjects participated into this study were significantly improved (P<0.05).
