User satisfaction survey on post-disaster permanent housing applications; the case of İnandik, the Central Village of Çankırı-Turkey

The phenomenon of disaster appears as a concept that has been brought to the agenda especially after the 1999 Marmara Earthquakes for our country and has not lost its status. Both in the world and in our country, disasters with different origins and dimensions are frequently encountered with different effects. The difficulty of making effective decisions and managing the process by adhering to that moment has been proven due to the destructions that occur during and after the disaster. Due to these factors, it is imperative that pre-disaster studies be handled comprehensively and in detail in a holistic manner. It is inevitable that the concept of housing comes to the fore during the return to normal life after a disaster. Post-disaster housing practices, which are discussed within the scope of the thesis, are important not only to ensure the return to normal order for all areas of life after a disaster, but also to prevent possible natural or human-induced events in the future. Ensuring the level of satisfaction in permanent housing practices after disasters is important not only for the victims but also for the integrity of the society and the city. It is aimed to evaluate the data obtained within the scope of the study as a successful example in terms of similar applications to be carried out from now on, and to serve as a guide, as well as to contribute to the disaster housing inventory study, which is designed to be issued nationwide by considering the human profile living in future regional conditions. The study consists of 5 main parts and an additional part with questionnaire questions. The first part is the introduction part where the purpose and scope of the study, material and method, and resource research are explained. The second part is the base section of the subject, which is formed by the literature review, in which the definition of the concept of disaster is made, the types of disasters and their effects are mentioned, the disaster picture of our country is presented, and disaster management and its stages are included. The third part is the base part, which was created with literature reviews under the general title of post-disaster housing production, with emphasis on permanent post-disaster housing after the concept of housing and post-disaster reconstruction. Section touched on the scope of the permanent disaster housing construction policy definition, it has referred to factors in ensuring the success of permanent disaster housing, which is applied in the world and Turkey are mentioned examples of permanent disaster housing. The fourth part was the part where the field research was explained as a result of the literature reviews and survey interviews. After the introduction of Çankırı Province and İnandık Village, the section, in which information about how the permanent disaster house construction process started and progress, what stage it is in today, what works are being carried out, as well as information about the old and new village campuses and architectural features, was concluded with the evaluation of the survey data. In the fifth section, the results of the study in general were included and the study was completed by including suggestions on the subjects that need to be worked forward. As a result of the study conducted with the survey method, it has been determined that Inandık village has successful aspects that can be an example for their counterparts and that they create a living space that is preferred by the users compared to their old residences by meeting the purpose of building a permanent disaster house.
