Abstract (EN)

This study aims to examine the participation of the people living in the Izmir earthquake zone in cooperation activities in October 2020, within the framework of the trust dimension of social capital. For this purpose, the approach emphasizing the importance of the trust dimension of social capital was taken as the basis. The trust dimension of people's social capital after the disaster affects their participation in cooperation and solidarity activities and constitutes the main point of the study. After the 2020 Izmir Earthquake, the participation of people living in the earthquake area in cooperation activities is to reveal the effect of social capital on the trust dimension. It was analyzed through the data obtained in the field study in which the effect of the trust dimension of the social capital of those living in the Izmir earthquake zone in October 2020 on participation in cooperation activities was examined. In this context, in this study, disaster sociology, social capital, cooperation and solidarity, trust theories were discussed and examined in detail. In the section of cooperation and solidarity, the concept of solidarity of Emile Durkheim, one of the classical sociology theorists, is given and detailed. In the second part, the methodological limits of the research were determined. In the third part, the data of the research was analyzed and as a result of the research findings, participation in the cooperation activities in the 2020 Izmir Earthquake was included as the dependent variable, and the trust dimension of social capital and demographic information formed the independent variable. The research was created within this framework and the research findings were reached by using the Logistic Regression model.
