Abstract (EN)
Turkey is located in a geological position where natural disasters such as earthquakes, landslides and floods are very common. When the disasters experienced in the past are observed, it is seen that there are great losses in our country. Many regulations and legislation have been prepared and new regulations have been made in order to minimize the losses that may occur before, during and after the disaster. In addition to these activities, voluntary organizations have been formed by the society in order to struggle with disasters. In order to create a quality and successful disaster management system, it is necessary for the society to take place in the disaster management system. Because the activities carried out by volunteers before, during and after the disaster play a key role in disaster management. After the 1999 Marmara earthquake, it is seen that there has been an increase in the number of voluntary organizations. Volunteer organizations make a great contribution by working on important issues such as nutrition, shelter, search and rescue in disasters. In order to increase voluntary participation in disasters in our country, public institutions produce encouraging projects. It is of great importance to inform and encourage young people about voluntary participation. These developments, which should pay attention to the importance of the development of young people in disasters, a survey was conducted at Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University on the participation of volunteers in disasters, and it was concluded that the youth in disasters are not at a sufficient level, the environments where the volunteers are present, and the warehouses are in unknown places.
