Integrated location optimization of field hospitals, temporary shelters, and collection points for disaster management

Natural disasters are events that typically occur beyond human control, are difficult to prevent, and often result in loss of life and property. Natural disasters occur from time to time all over the world. As a result of these disasters, significant physical and psychological losses can occur. Determining the location of collection points and temporary shelter areas and field hospitals, and the transfer of the injured to hospitals as a result of these disasters are key issues in natural disaster management. Determining the collection points before the disaster will prevent the panic environment that will be experienced after the disaster. Temporary shelters to be established in the right places are important to meet the shelter needs of the casualties. The number of casualties that may occur as a result of a possible earthquake can complicate the rapid intervention in hospitals. The injured should be treated as soon as possible. In this study, it is aimed to determine the location of the field hospital, temporary shelter and collection points in case of a possible disaster. In this study, the problems of determining the location of field hospital, temporary shelter and assembly areas in a possible disaster situation were solved together by stochastic optimization method. In this context, a case study was made according to possible earthquake scenarios for Erzincan province and the most suitable locations were determined by using stochastic optimization method over different scenarios.
