Özet (EN)

Many disasters occur in Turkey as a result of not managing the risks that may arise from natural, technological and human-made hazards. As a result of these disasters; The large scale of the losses makes the concept of risk management, which is a step of disaster management, vital. For this reason, the need for studies aimed at preventing the negative effects of earthquakes and other disasters is increasing day by day. The aim of this study is to contribute to studies aimed at reducing and, if possible, eliminating the damage caused by all disasters, especially earthquakes in Turkey. In this thesis, the performance of the blocks obtained by covering the structural elements of the building under the impact was evaluated. For this purpose, unreinforced concrete blocks are covered in certain layers with flexible polyurea coating, which is a new generation coating material and is frequently used in many sectors. The coated samples were then subjected to 3-Point Bend tests. The results obtained in these tests were analyzed. It was observed that the strength of the samples coated with polyurea was higher than the samples that were not coated with polyurea. Thus, with the use of polyurea flexible spray polyurea composite material in the structural elements of the buildings, an alternative to the systems that reduce the vulnerability of the structures against all other disasters, especially earthquakes, has been presented. Keywords: Disaster management, Earthquakes, Polyurea composites, Seismic risk assessment, Building safety
