Abstract (EN)
Afghan hand-woven carpets and rugs are referred to as a symbol of Afghan art and culture for hundreds of years. This product, which incorporates a history of many thousand years, has a crucial and strategic position within the economy and particularly within the export of the Islamic State of Afghanistan due to options like production, design, quality, the potential for job creation, and exchange influx. Handmade carpets are made in countries like the Asian nations, Pakistan, Turkey, India, and China, and these countries are among the foremost important competitors of Afghanistan's handmade carpet business in international markets. In the Afghan carpet sector, over 2 million people are engaged in carpet weaving and more than one million others are engaged in related jobs. This sector plays a key role within the country's economic process in addition to the development of rural areas. After a protracted recession, the industry began to grow again, with exports rising from $ 4 million in 2001 to $ 240 million in 2005. however, because of the country's internal issues and therefore the lack of presidency and private sector support for the industry, its exports fell to $ twenty-nine.6 million in 2019 Carpet weaving is completed in most is done of the country and also the main centres of carpet production and trade are national capital, Herat, Faryab, Andkhoy, Balkh and Kunduz. According to the results of this research, it was found that 10% of the country's carpet and kilim production is done in Herat city, and if properly managed, the revenue of over $ 100 million are going to be obtained. In Afghanistan, the average sales price of hand-woven carpets and rugs is between 50-100 dollars per square meter, while in world markets this price estimated between 400-500 dollars. 63% of herat carpet weavers are in serious need of credit to continue their work and also 62% of them have complained regarding the import of machine-made carpets.
