Abstract (EN)

After the Second World War, the process of decolonization began worldwide. Along with India, Pakistan also gained independence from the British. Thus, a new country was born in the southeast of Afghanistan. This new state has played an important role in regional stability from its birth until today. Afghanistan and Pakistan, which formed the borders of the Eastern and Western blocs in the bipolar period, became two countries of key importance for the security and stability of the Asian continent and the entire world in the post-Cold War period. In the study, Pashtunistan and Durand Border Line issue forms the basis of Afghanistan-Pakistan relations, which are also affected by international developments. However, in the following years, old problems continued and new problems were added. Although the study encountered difficulties in terms of resources, the relations between the two countries were evaluated based on the developments in Afghanistan. Although Afghanistan-Pakistan relations are tense, the two countries are home to people who have cultural and historical ties with each other. Keywords: Durand Line, Afghanistan, Pakistan, India
