Abstract (EN)

The tradition of minstrelsy has an important place in Turkish culture. The minstrels, who are the representatives of the tradition, have a great share in keeping the minstrel tradition alive and transferring it for centuries. Today, the tradition of minstrelsy is still alive in some provinces thanks to the minstrels, with some changes. Kahramanmaraş is one of the provinces where the tradition of minstrelsy is still alive. The subject of this study is Ozan Erbabi, one of the representatives of the minstrel tradition, which is one of the important values of Turkish culture, and his works.Ozan Erbabi is a minstrel who was born and raised in the Afşin district of Kahramanmaraş and was brought up with the master-apprentice tradition.The study covers Ozan Erbabi's life and 233 poems that have been analyzed and evaluated.In the "Conceptual Framework", which constitutes the first part of the study, firstly, information about the minstrel tradition of Turkey is given, and then the tradition of minstrelsy in Kahramanmaraş is discussed.In the "Findings and Discussion", which constitutes the second part of the study, detailed information about Ozan Erbabi's life and the process of falling in love is given.In this section, the poet's 233 poems were first classified according to their subjects and examined and evaluated in terms of genre, structure, form, content and performance environments.
