Abstract (EN)
Sultandağı Fault located in the north of Isparta Angle delimits NNE of Sultandağı Mountain. According to Emre et al. (2016), Sultandağı fault is 155 km long and trending with N30–60W/60NE, dip-slip normal fault. In this study, it is aimed to reveal the paleoseismological features of the Çay Segment, which is one of the six segments of the Sultandağı fault. The Çay Segment is 12 km long and striking with, trending N80E/64NW. There are many units from Paleozoic to present in the study area, affected by Sultandağı Fault. It is focused on Quaternary units cut by this fault in the area around Maltepe Village. The last earthquake resulted in surface rupture of the Çay Segment (Mw: 6,5) occurred on 3 February 2002. It is aimed to find the paleoseismicity, kinematics of faulting of the Çay segment. In this study, the results of the paleoseismic trench study carried out on the Çay segment is explained. It is determined that three paleo events occurred in Holocene.
