Structural characteristics and problems of layer hen enterprises i central district of Afyonkarahisar province

3ABSTRACTStructural Characteristics and Problems of Layer Hen Enterprises in CentralDistrict of Afyonkarahisar ProvinceThis investigation was carried out in order to determine the organization levelof layer hen enterprises in Afyonkarahisar, to investigate some factors associatedwith structural characteristics, and to discuss the kind of enterprises problemsencountered.With this aim, a questionnaire study has been conducted in 54 firms ofAfyonkarahisar on May, 2004. Enterprises were chosen by randomly sample method.In order to determine the organization level a score was applied to theenterprises. The organization level of the enterprises was investigated and comparedwith education level and age of producers as well as the harmonization studies withthe EU and the progression of the enterprises under the present circumstances. Inaddition, the relationship between the harmonization level and the decision ofprogression of the enterprises has been investigated. Chi-square was used for dataanalysis.As a result of this study, we found that 12 enterprises have lower structuralcharacteristics while 25 enterprises have middle and 17 enterprises have highstructural characteristics. Significant differences between structural properties of theenterprises and education level of the producers as well as the level of harmonizationfor the EU have been obtained (p<0.05), whereas there were no statisticallysignificant differences between the age of the producers and the decision of theprogression (p>0.05). However, statistical analyses show that there were significantdifferences between the level of harmonization for the EU and the decision of theprogression of the enterprises (p<0.01).In fact of the problems of the enterprises, are analogous with the problems ofall sectors in our country. In the process of solving these problems we found that theenterprises would have important competition ability.Economical crisis, applied economical politics and inadequate supports affectthe development of this sector in negative way.
