Özet (EN)
In this study, the effect of microwave and heating process on the wear indeks and gloss properties of some commercially important wood species were searched, therefore four different wood species (Beech and Alder As hardwoods, and Spruce and Fir as softwood) and two type of varnish (Cellulosic varnish and polyurethane varnish) were used. In addition, in order to determine effect of sawn types and fiber directions, density, dry film thickness, wear indeks and gloss values of samples were investigated. The best wear index value in tree species was determined in Eastern Beech wood, followed by Alder and Eastern Spruce, respectively. It has been determined that 90 seconds of microwave application reduces the brightness values in the brightness values. As a result; It was determined that microwave application and heating processes affected the wear index values and gloss properties of the varnishes.
