Ağrı city Doğubayazit county hand weaving carpet tradition

The purpose of this research is certifying the original hand made carpets and asserting their characteristic which belogs to Ağrı City Doğubayazıt County. For that purpose; villages which are striving carpet weaving, ateliers which are manufactoring carpets and salesrooms which are selling that areas carpets are designated, so centre of city, 11 villages, 3 carpet ateliers, 2 salesrooms were analised. For this research general dedecting model has drived. As an example group, old and new 40 handmade carpets are designated of sampe group. For designating very well of this carpet group, carpets are pictured different angles by technic, color, drawing, pattern and composition. 70 people who has weaved or already weaving carpet in the Ağrı City Doğubayazıt County center and 11 villages are designated as working group. Accordingly for chaining judgement samples correctly, which will be acquired in example group, carpet information form has developed. For collecting judgement informations, which are acquired working group, survey has prepared. For a generalization of district carpets, all informations are evaluated with using SPSS 16.00 program and outputs are related as tables in the relevant pages. Datas, which are obtained to survey form, has calculated with frequency analysis.Nowadays in Doğubayazıt handmade carpets are weaving in carpet ateliers. People, who had interested with this art, were middle age or old age but in our time they are just child age. This individuals come to county center with using buses, minibuses and services for earning income and for doing this art. If we examine that carpet weavers educational background, high percentage of illiterate is attracting. In Doğubayazıt old carpet examples had produced with using ground loom and its welf, warp, fiber ornament has produced using wool. In this examples, whichs widths close and heights comparatively long, weavers used generally mustard yellow and grey. In this carpets geometrical, botanical, practical and zoological ornaments are used intensely. Silk and wool carpets, which are produced in ateliers, are weaving with looking computer designed figures. In this carpets weavers don?t use traditional designs and colors.
