Özet (EN)
Objective: In this thesis, it was aimed to evaluate the relevance of the Perceived Validation and Criticism in Pain Questionnaire (PVCPQ-TR) for the Turkish population and the effectiveness of its clinical use. Methods: 250 individuals with chronic pain aged between 18 and 83 years (54 males, 196 females) were included in the study. Numerical Pain Rating Scale (NPRS), Pain Disability Index (PDI), The Centraling of Pain Scale (COPS), Social Safeness and Pleasure Scale (SSPS), Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale (HADS), Perceived Validation and Criticism in Pain Questionnaire (PVCPQ-TR) scores were used. Internal consistency and test-retest analyzes were applied to determine the reliability of the PVCPQ-TR. Similar scale validity and confirmatory factor analysis were used to determine the validity of the PVCPQ-TR. Statistical significance level was accepted as p<0.05. Results: The Turkish version of the Perceived Validation and Criticism in Pain Questionnaire showed high levels of internal consistency and test-retest reliability (Cronbach α = 0.92-0.92, ICC = 0.92-0.93 respectively, for validation and criticism in pain). As a result of confirmatory factor analysis, the two-factor structure of PVCPQ-TR was confirmed. Statistically significant correlations were found in the direction of very weak-moderate negative-positive between PVCPQ-TR "criticism in pain" and NPRS (r = 0,228, p<0,001), PDI (r = 0,168, p<0,05), COPS (r = 0,447, p<0,001), HADS anxiety (r = 0,314, p<0,001), depression (r = 0,377, p<0,001), SSPS (r =-0,156, p<0,05); PVCPQ-TR "validation in pain" and NPRS (r =-0,136, p<0,05), PDI (r=-0,079, p>0,05), COPS (r =-0,239, p<0,001), HADS anxiety (r =-0,157, p<0,05), HADS depression (r =-0,219, p<0,001), SSPS (r = 0,322, p<0,001). As a result of the Confirmatory Factor Analysis, it was seen that the PVCPQ-TR model index values provided a suitable fit compared to the reference values. Conclusion: The results of this study provide important evidence that the Turkish version of the Perceived Validation and Criticism in Pain Questionnaire has appropriate psychometric properties, including validity and reliability. Keywords: chronic pain, validation, criticism, scale, validity and reliability
