The roles that akhies have in Turkish government and social life in Turkey Seljukids and Principalites Period

Having first been introduced into Anatolia during the reign of Sultan İzzeddin Keykavus I under the name of ?Fütüvvet? (futuwwa; Geneorisity-Honesty), Akhism had later turned into a national organisation, and then named ?Ahilik? There are many values that were contributed by the Organisation of Akhi to the Turkish world. Introduction of the Organisation of Akhi into Anatolia formally during Turkish Seljuks was a turning point in Turkish state and social lives.Akhis helped the Turkmen people who wanted to settle down in cities quitting leading a nomad way of life, to have jobs and establish their own businesses. In addition, the attitude of Akhis towards the Mongolian in the periods of ?collapse?, ?lamentation? and ?abasement? experienced, as well as their activities, after the war of Kösedağ (1243) are also notable and significant.The Organisation of Akhi, as soon as it had been established, having an influence upon the social and economic structure of the Anatolian people, was not only known by these functions but also acted as the defender of Turko-Islamic culture, as well as of many other Turkish cultural values, primarily the Turkish language. When we concern ourselves with Turkish Seljukians and emirates (beylik), it is observed that Akhis had various roles and through these roles they influenced many areas such as social life and state life.
