This research covers the analysis and evaluation of Ahmad b. Muhammad b. Abu al-Hayr al-Marhūmī's treatise on some verses of Surahs al-Nisaa and al-Hujurāt in his manuscript titled "al-Hadiyyat al-Mardiyya li zi al-Measiri al-Seniyya". Marhūmī, an Egyptian scholar who lived during the Ottoman period, taught tafsīr in his environment. Marhūmī's understanding of tafsīr is described as traditional, and he also included the reasons for the occurrence of events in his tafsīr. It can be said that he had a perfect method. In this study, the original sources of the hadiths and narrations that were mentioned in al-Marhūmī's work have been revealed and the ambiguous expressions in the work have been explained. Thus, some consequences and evaluations about Marhūmī's life and views have been revealed. Other outcomes reached in the thesis are stated that Marhūmī not only utilized verses and the views of previous scholars in his tafsīr, but also used both the poems of other poets and his own poems in his tafsīr. Also it is seen that that his work has a rich content in terms of grammar and figures of speech.
