Review of Ahmet Cevat Emre's Türkçe Kıraat book in terms of values education

Children are saviors of today and tomorrow and they are the wills which keep nations strong and stable. Such an important linguist like Ahmet Cevat Emre saw this importance of the children and wrote this book in the period especially when Ottoman Empire was in desperate social and political conflict. This book is a very valuable work which aims to give basic values to Turkish children like respect, love, patience, forbearance, clemency, mercy and helping each other. This research is important because it reveals basic values of the book. In this research, Ahmet Cevat Emre's Turkce Kıraat book has been reviewed in terms of values education. In our research, the information about Ahmet Cevat Emre's life, scientific research and works are given after the information of Values Education and its elements have been presented. "Turkce Kıraat" book has translated into Latin letters and the work has been reviewed in terms of values education components. This research will be understood better as the texts which are picked up for the children are read in Ahmet Cevat Emre's Turkce Kıraat book which has an important role when we look at the period he lived and the works he did.
