Abstract (EN)
The narrator is a very important element in the novel. The narrator takes its history from texts of epic origin. Starting from the epic period, the narrator the sine qua non of the work, including the contemporary modern novels. Even as the novelist begins to pass sentences on the work through his mind and heart, he needs a narrator. However, once the narrator is found, it is not over. Regardless of which narrator he uses, there are a lot of problems of the novelist to overcome for the narrator. The author has to look for solutions to the narrator's narrative problems and to present his narrative to the reader in a logical and artistic framework in the light of these solutions. There are three types of narrators that can be used in narrative texts. These are "I" narrator, "He,She,It" narrator and "You" narrator. Each narrator has its own advantages and disadvantages. The author chooses the most appropriate one for his narrative and, under his guidance, sets out to tell the novel, which is the scene of events and people. Since the narrator issue will be valid for every writer and time, many domestic and foreign researches have been conducted on this subject and the types of narrators have been examined one by one and the solutions that the authors have done with or without knowledge have been emphasized. In our thesis, we tried to examine the narrator issue through the novels of Ahmet Hamdi Tanpınar, who marked a period of our literature. In the novels of Tanpınar, who does not tell only what is in his novels, but also deals with events and people within a cultural spectrum, we will examine the masterful solutions of the narrator issue. Key Words: Ahmet Hamdi Tanpınar, narrator, novel, narratortypes.
