Abstract (EN)
Ahmet Midhat Efendi is one of the most prolific writers of Turkish literature. Ahmet Midhat Efendi wrote most of his his works in the field of novel. He has refered to lots of subjects in his novels and has touched many topics. Ahmet Midhat Efendi used many cities, especially İstanbul, as a place in his novels. In this study, the subject of İstanbul is examined in Ahmet Midhat Efendi's novels. For this purpose, published by the Turkish Language Association, 36 novels of Ahmet Midhat Efendi were examined. Information about Istanbul was found in 19 of these novels,. In the novels, Istanbul's districts and the social, cultural and daily life of and Istanbul were examined. The districts, life stages, domestic life, community life, special days and entertainment life were evaluated. Keywords: Ahmet Midhat Efendi, novel, İstanbul, district, daily life
