Abstract (EN)
Every literary text carries something from the environment it is born into. Tales, as an important literary genre, involves many cultural aspects of the culture it arises. Many cultural knowledge, basically the language and its facilities, are carried to the reader via tales. This goes on from generation to generation. Ahmet ÜMİT who is well known for his detective stories in Turkish Literature, setting out from the folk tales his mother told him, wrote two tale books. These two tales are studied in the view of Parts of Tales, Constituents of Tales and Kamil İŞLERİ's (2011) Textuality Criteria Scale. The books are analyzed one by one according to the criteria stated in the scale under three headlines: text based features, reader based features and the other features. The aim of this study is to analyze the certain two novels Ahmet ÜMİT wrote facilitating from the folk tales in the view of Parts of Tales, Constituents of Tales and Textuality Criteria Scale. As a qualitative analysis method, the document analysis method is applied in this study. By the end of the study it is seen that the tales are well qualified in terms of textuality criteria; it is appropriate for the many items in the scale; however it is only appropriate for the 13 and over age groups in terms of the readability.
